What is the difference between In-Stock and Pre-Order products?

In-Stock Products are available immediately and will be dispatched within our standard processing time. Pre-Order Products are manufactured or sourced on demand.

How long do Pre-Orders take?

Lead times vary by product. For gates and fencing products, typically range from 2-3 weeks for a local custom-made (a lot more expensive) or an overseas 12-16 weeks shipment. For Automation and Gate Accessories, it might be 2-5 working days only. You'll receive updates throughout the process and be notified as soon as your order is ready.

Do you ship nationwide across New Zealand?

Yes! We ship to all regions across New Zealand. Freight costs and delivery timeframes will be calculated at checkout based on your location. We integrated Mainfreight 2Home service quotation system into our shipping calculation so the rates will be real-time and accurate - No surcharges, No office handling costs, just the freight cost on its own being charged.

How long does delivery take for In-Stock items?

In-Stock orders are typically dispatched within 1-2 business days. Delivery timeframes depend on your location once dispatched. Please refer to our Shipping Policy for full details.

Notes: Only book your installers and subcontractors once the orders are confirmed to deliver (Mainfreight will call you) as sometimes the estimated time may change without notice.

What is the Fixed-Price Installation service?

XGATE's Fixed-Price Guaranteed (FPG) Services are a purchasable service where our team installs your gate or fence at a set, transparent price — no hidden costs. It's the easiest way to get your product professionally installed without the guesswork.

Do I need an electrician for gate automation?

Automated gate systems require a power connection. We recommend consulting a licensed electrician for the electrical connection. Our installation team handles all mechanical and automation setup. However, most motors and parts we sell are 24V low voltage or can be solar powered, which are DIY friendly, no electricians needed.

Our automation systems are categorized by gate type — sliding gates and swing gates. Check the product descriptions or contact us if you're unsure which system suits your setup.

Can I buy gate hardware and automation separately?

Yes! We stock gate hardware, posts, and automation systems individually so you can mix and match based on your needs. For a manual operational gate, you only need the basic gate accessories, you may not need the lock supplied as there are also other types of lock available on the market. The automation is just an add-on which can be done at the same time, or later when you are in need.

What gate automation brands do you carry?

We carry leading gate automation brands suited to different gate types. BFT and Centurion motors are used for sliding gates, while CAME motors are used for swing gates. All brands are well-established in the industry and backed by manufacturer warranties.
